Water
Rescue Class
This class will be held at
a local indoor pool. During the event we will cover the
following
- Proper way to fit and
wear a PFD
- The tandem canoe
"T" rescue
- The single boat/ two
person rescue.
- Proper use of a throw
rope.
- Proper self-rescue
technique
Person Equipment:
Bathing suit, and towel.

Entry
Level Canoe Instruction Course
We are now offering entry
level canoe paddling courses at Blackstone Valley
Outfitters. This 3 hour course is designed for the
beginning or recreational paddler. You will be instructed
in the basics that all paddlers need to start with.
On Shore:
- PFD- Fit and why it
is a necessity.
- Proper equipment for
loading and unloading your canoe
- Paddle Land Demo-
Hand positions, extension and torso rotation,
paddle types
- Pre-paddle warm up
Safety Talk and

- Poly, Wool Paddle
Jacket Wet Suit/Dry Suit, Hot Beverage
