Regarding our cycling lights...

It was beyond sunset when I got out there but not completely dark yet. By the time I passed that father/ daughter team, (Our first bike rentals. their comment about the light was it was very bright and you could see him coming down the bike path a mile away.)) visibility was 75 feet. With the light I could make them out coming my way at about 125 feet and I was going 18-20 miles an hour.

By the time I passed Ashton Mill, visibility was down to 50 feet, and the brightness of the light really became more effective. It provides enough straight ahead visibility to see about 100 feet in the dark. What's also important is how it has a wide beam of light. This helps illuminate the ground immediately in front about 20 feet as well as provide the distance illumination, similar to a high beam on a car.

I went from your shop up to Manville Dam and back to Ashton Mill in the dark and averaged 20 miles an hour. I had tried to do this speed with my large camping flashlight mounted on my bike but the beam was very narrow and I always felt uncomfortable not seeing what was immediately in front of my wheel. Even though my camping light could shine further in distance (150-175 feet) it was less effective for the needs of cycling compared to the light I used last night.

Hey Don, thanks alot for a good time last weekend. WE had a great time with you guys! I hope to come back this weekend or next depending on the weather! Have a great day! -Lisa

Hey kids, got some new photos up from last week's kayaking adventure on the Blackstone River. It was tons of fun! I must RAVE about Blackstone Valley Outfitters (www.bvori.com). We did a 3 hour tour..a 3 hour tour, and it was only $25 which included all our gear. It was a great tour and excellent for my mom and co worker who had never been kayaking before. Yeah dude, my MOM went kayaking, she didn't let me post the pictures of her on my page but what can you do. You can also rent kayaks for a super fantastic price of only $35 a day, A DAY! Can you stand it? They also rent bikes now which is great because the bike path is right freaking there, I mean, its a pretty sweet deal over there. And its close by my house so if you go, I will have cookies and milk out for you after your kayaking trip, just call me up before hand so I can go out and buy some cookies...what...you thought I was going to bake?
