Guided Paddle Trip from the Store to
Valley Falls and back
Join us on a natural & historical
kayak paddle on the Blackstone River.
After a Paddle & Safety Talk we will
leave the store & paddle down to the
Lonsdale Wetland Area before continuing
down the Blackstone River with stops in
several coves that offers views of
wetland vegetation & wildlife.
Well be finishing off the trip at
Central Falls Landing before heading back
up stream to the store.
Time: 9:00am to 12:30 pm
Cost: $30 Adults, $20
Teens, and $10 with our own boats.
With Hot dog & Hamburgers
after trip add $5.00
October 3 -
Guided Kayak Paddle on the Nemasket &
Taunton Rivers
Join us on a paddle through wooded
wetlands with giant beech trees and
towering oaks. Starting from a historic
1700s grist mill site off of Route
44, Middleboro, Mass, we follow the water
path of the Native American as the
Nemasket River winds its way to the
Taunton River. At the merger we will
continue along the Taunton River taking
out at the South Street Bridge,
Middleboro, Mass.
Distance: 12 miles Approx. Trip Time: 5hours
Water Condition: Smooth
with Quickwater at bridges. Personal Equipment Needed:
Water, snacks, Bug Repellent, Sun Block Time: 8:30 am at store,
10:00 am at put in Cost: $40.00 with own
boat $20.00
October 5 -
Basic Map & Compass Clinic
Yes we now have GPS units to guide us
around the world, but what happens if
your batteries die or the tree canopy
blocks your satellite connection? Knowing
how to read a map and use a compass is an
important outdoor skill.
Time: 6:00pm to 8:00 pm Cost: Free Equipment needed:
Compass, and pen

- Guided Hike with the Rhode Island
College Outdoor Club
Blackstone Valley Outfitters will be
leading a hike for the RI College Outdoor
Club on Massachusetts highest peak,
Wachusett Mountain. During the hike we
will be offering clinics in gear usage,
plant identification and back country
navigation.
October 11
- Guided Fall foliage Paddle from the
Store to Valley Falls and back Join us on a natural &
historical kayak paddle on the Blackstone
River. After a Paddle & Safety Talk
we will leave the store & paddle down
to the Lonsdale Wetland Area before
continuing down the Blackstone River with
stops in several coves that offers views
of wetland back up stream to the store.
Time: 9:30am to 12:30 pm
Cost: $30 Adults, $20
Teens, and $10 with our own boats.
October 12
- Backpacking 101 Ever wanted to extend your day
hikes to weekend treks or maybe living
your dream of hiking for 5 months on the
AT? Join Ray of Bootlugs for a 5 part
course in backpacking.
Time: 6:30 pm Cost: $10 per course or
$40 paid in advance for full package.
October 16
- Take your Boss Paddling on a Guided 5
hour Kayak Trip Today is National Boss Day so
join us for a day of paddling on the
Blackstone River. We will be meeting at
the store and car pooling up to
Woonsocket, RI putting in at River Island
Park and paddling back to the store.
The trip will include 4 portages around
historic dams.
Personal Equipment Needed:
Water, snacks, Lunch, Bug Repellent Time: 9:00am Cost: $60.00 with own
boat $30.00
October 17
- AMC 2010 Fall Gathering Sponsored by
the Worcester Chapter of the AMC Blackstone Valley Outfitters
will be running a Dutch Oven Cooking Demo
at 9:00 am and a Dehydration Demo at 11:00am
during this family oriented event, so
stop by. The 3 day event will be held at
the Prindle Pond Conference Center
Hilltop in Charlton, Ma. For more

October 23
- Guided Fall foliage Paddle through
History Join us on a morning paddle up
the historic Blackstone Canal. During our
trip, check out local wildlife and
vegetation. Our return trip will start
with a portage into the Blackstone River.
Traveling down river through quick-water,
historic mills and woodlands.

boat $10.00
October 24
- Guided Fall foliage Paddle to Valley
Falls Wetland & Back Come join us on a Morning paddle
along the Blackstone River. We will be
leaving the store and paddling down river
with visits to several coves and wetlands

Water, snacks, Bug Repellent, Sun Block
October 30
- Guided hike on Mount Monadnock, Jeffery,
NH
At 3,165 ft Mount Monadnock is the
tallest mountain in the area for 30 miles
and is 2,000 feet above the surrounding
landscape, offers on a clear day
outstanding vistas. Come join us on
hiking the mountain that helped inspire
Thoreau, Emerson and Walden.
Equipment needed:
Contact store. Time: 7:00am meet at
store to car pool with other hikers. Cost: $15.00 part of
cost covers park fee.
October 31
- Store Halloween Party We will be having an open house
and cookout for all our family and
friends that have supported us on our
endeavor. There will be kayaking, biking
and a campfire with ghost stories from 1:00
pm till the ghosts go home.
